Dollar's fleet In the past Dollar operated predominantly with Chrysler vehicles and had an arrangement with Chrysler that Chrysler would buy back vehicles at pre-agreed rates when the vehicles reached a pre-agreed age. When Chrysler went into chapter 11 administration it caused all sorts of problems for Dollar mainly to do with the disposal of cars. As a result the age of cars increased for a while. 60% of Dollar's fleet is now General Motors with the remainder Ford and Chrysler. They now take care of their own fleet disposals and the average age of vehicles is on a downward trend and the current average age of their fleet being 10.2 months with an average mileage of 21,400 miles.
